We raise a variety of meat chickens, selecting them for their unique characteristics.
- CORNISH CROSS - This modern breed is selected for its rapid growth rate, tenderness, and efficiency. A Cornish Cross makes an excellent fryer.
- DELAWARE - A heritage breed, dating back to the 1940’s, that provides a superior taste and texture as compared to the modern cross breeds. Not quite as tender as the Cornish Cross, Delawares make excellent roasters.
- BLACK AUSTRALORP - A black feathered chicken, that has its roots in England, has set many egg laying records. They lay medium brown eggs with firm whites and rich yolks. These fine birds make excellent stewing hens.
- CHICKEN FEET – These are generally used to make soup stock but can be deep fried or roaster with your chicken to give the gravy extra flavor.
